It appears that there is an error in both the Uno32 and Max32 jumpers pdf's on the Digilent site:
The pinpouts for the SPI connector J8 (Uno32) J13 (Max32) do not match the schematic.

I found the same problem. I informed Digilent support via email. They responded as follows:
[color=#0040FF]Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We'll get this straightened out. The pin numbering starts in the upper left hand corner and should count across.
MISO 1 .. 2 NC SCLK 2 .. 4 MOSI SS 5 .. 6 GND[/color]
Note that I checked the above pin-out with the Eagle board layout file for the J8 connector (in Master mode) on Uno32 and it matches. I guess it's the same for the Max32, J13.
