VNCLO-MB1A Shield looks like it could work for the Uno32

Only thing missing is the second row of analog pins. Not really a big deal. I ordered 2 of these to check them out.

It works, but it is setup different. The viniculum board has the extra pins on the outside of the standard Arduino pins. So it causes the analog pins to plug into A6 to A11 instead of A0 to A5. You will also have to clip the last 2 pins on the power sockets and bend the pins slightly to plug into the power socket. When installed this way the holes will not line up between the shield and the Uno32. The pins really hold the board in so I don't see that being an issue. The pins are very tall so if they are too tall you could trim them down a bit.

It would be better to use a board made for the Uno32, but there were none in stock and I needed some boards. These will work in a pinch. Also, they are actually capable of being good Arduino boards as well. At $9 a pop and they come with hardware. So it is a pretty good deal.

I wish the Uno32 had the extra pins on the outside rows rather than inside. It would make the board wider, but it would make access to the other pins easier after you have a shield installed.

Did you manage to get the software interaction to the FTDI chip? Or did you just want to see if the hardware would fit? I think that adding this shield to the repository of the Uno32 would be great for it!

Have you done any experimenting? Is there already some Arduino code written for it? Let us know how it goes!

The board I am testing is just the PCB prototyping kit.

The main Viniculum board (VNCLO-MB1A) is a stand alone dev board that does usb host and usb device as well as providing a processor that has more IO than the original Arduino.

That is not what I am testing here. I am testing a shield (VNCLO-SHLD-1A) designed for the Viniculum processor. It is just a breadboarding shield that has similar pinout to the Uno32. I was confused about this before too. If the it was the processor board $9 would be a heck of a deal for the kind of processing power their processor provides.

I would not recommend the Viniculum processor board unless you need USB host and want to learn a different CPU. It costs more than the Uno32.

OK that makes a lot more sense, I did go to your link and I thought, "Wow! an FTDI shield for 9 bucks. But your right, this is just the prototyping shield.

As a matter of fact you could stick a mini breadboard on top of this and have a modified proto shield for the uno32. And again it's only 9 Bucks! Great Find Demolishun!!
