I got some samples of the PIC32MX150F128 in the SPDIP Package.
I am very impressed, I had one up and running on a breadboard in only a few minuets.
I have created a beginners tutorial about them over on the EEVBlog and the more I play with them the more I think theses chips have a great potential for getting hobbyists working with the 32Bit Pics.
I have published the breadboard layout and am busy designing a beginners development board around them and it occurred to me that I may be able to make it compatible with MPIDE.
This could be a daunting but useful undertaking so, before reinventing the wheel, I thought I would ask here if the Team has any plans to support the MX1xx/2xx family?
I would hate to go ahead only to find that the official support requires a total redesign of my board because different choices were made on things like PPS.
Has anyone else considered or even created MX1xx/2xx support and be willing to share ideas?
Cheers Chris

Great job!
Unfortunately, Microchip doesn't ship samples outside the US, so I can't test the SPDIP PIC32 in Europe :( .

There will be several MX2xx based boards that are chipKIT compatible - Rick and I are working on one right now with some very kind assistance from Keith. Not exactly sure when it will be up for sale, but sometime this summer.
A DIP version, with the code we're working on, would be very easy . . .

Where did you get samples?
I looked and all the 28 pin PDIP packages looked to be order only. So I ordered 5 of the ones that support USB OTG. Not a big deal, but I would like to get some samples if they offer them.

I got my sample parts through my very friendly local Microchip sales rep. I've had a great relationship with the local Microchip guys here in the Twin Cities area for the past 14 years - probably because we use a whole lot of Microchip parts at work. :-)

Same as Brian,
We use a lot of the larger PIC32's in a production product so I asked the Rep if he had any in stock. He didn't but forwarded the request and they were in South Africa a couple of weeks later.
