Arduino on the Microstick II

Has anyone managed to get the Arduino bootloader to work on the Microstick II with the PIC32 processor? The main limtation would be that only 28 pin devices can be used.

The Microstick II needs a new (revised) bootloader, I believe someone is working on it but I haven't heard an update in a month or so.
The bootloaders are on GitHub if you want to take a crack at it.
