I am Sorry - i will try to explain.

Some time ago, it happened to me on an other forum. I replied to a topic. A day later, I wanted continue reading. But in the meantime there were quite a lot of other entries and it cost me quite a while and effort to find the headline and the topic again.
How do I get back to that position ? Do you have a tip? At least in principle ?

If you use "View New Posts" you will get a list of topics with messages which have arrived since your last visit. If you click on the blue arrow/yellow folder symbol to the left of a topic heading, you will be taken to the first message on that topic since your last visit.

Look up, under 'User Control Panel' is 'View your posts'
