basic help needed

ii am a newbie needing some real basic help.starting from square one. ive got chipkit32 and downloaded mpide. am using vista now what do i do to start mpide, i dont see anything that says exe or start should i see some sort of screen intro or anything like that what should i see on the board.

You need to unzip the mpide and the enter the directory that was unzipped and double click on the mpide file. There is no setup or install.
