Network Shield compatibility (Uno32 OR Arduino DUE)

Hi,

I own both chipKIT Uno32 and Arduino DUE as well as a chip kit network shield and I was wondering:

Is the chip kit network shield, which was designed to work with a Max32 board, compatible with either Uno32 or arduino Due?

The interesting part on the due is that more pins fit the shield. So I would be tempted to his it. However, I have never programmed one (and I have never programmed an Uno32) so I haven't decided yet.

Apparently, it is not compatible with the Uno32. I tried to compile the sources, but it requires some Wifi (??) options in the hardware which are not available on the Uno32???

I do not really understand what's happening. Has anyone any experience with this ?

The network shield will not work with an Uno32 for at least one reason. The PIC32 on the Uno32 does not have the Ethernet functionality. There may be other reasons as well.

I cannot comment about the Due, but chances are it will not (or at least not without modifications).

Thank you so much for your reply. In light of what you wrote, I have decided to purchase a Max32 as well.

Unfortunately, I am quite disappointed, because the NTP example does not work (haven't be able to know why) and the web server example barely works (works only half of the time with firefox) doesn't work at all with safari, barely works with wget. I have opened an other thread to discuss this issue.
