If you are into Ham Radio, Ten-Tec has announced an open source 20/40 meter QRP transceiver based on the chipKIT UNO. The radio is targeted at experimenters and comes with basic functionality from the factory with enhancements to come from the user community. Google for more information. Some details are trickling out from the beta testers.

Maybe we'll see a few of these users on this forum in the future.

Joined the Rebel Yahoo group and downloaded the code and schematic. It does not include a DSP chip. Just an analog front-end with an AD9834 DDS chip. A dsPIC Shield could be a good addition in the future.

The first release is definitely Alpha. Works, but could use some style cleanup.

Uses a lot of pins. Not many open for expansion if a parallel LCD is added. Luckily one I2C port is open.

It looks like a fun product. Now just have to convince the wife that I NEED one. :D

I have been inactive as well, but brushing up on the code again. My QRP+ is DOA at the moment with a blown cap(at least). I have to get back on that and hope I remember where all those parts go! I finally have land and tall trees to throw wires into.
