help with P5Q chip writing

I have written all of the relevant parts of SFSPH directly to a sketch to try to debug it without a library. I can get it to write (sort of) and read the chip but there are serious bugs that I just can't figure out. If anyone is interest in helping (for free or for hire) please let me know and I will post the sketch. I am using the Pmod shield and the Pmod SF2 pmod board and have added the necessary board varient to the IDE but can not get it to work. I think I have exhausted my abilities and need the help of a pro.
